BVGS Meeting Monday, August 3, 2026
What wonderful celebrations the month of July brought for Our Country's BIG 250th Celebration going on all over the United States!! How incredible is it to know that we are witnessing 250 years from our signing the Declaration of Independence back in 1776!! We hope that all of you had some wonderful quality time over the Fourth of July holiday weekend to celebrate our great country and/or to watch some of the amazing things going on nationwide celebrating it. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
Moving into August, we were planning to have Pam give us a refresher program on scanning negatives and photographs etc. We are so sorry to report that on July 7th there was an explosion at Pam's place which destroyed their home. Pam will share some of the things the family has dealt with since then at our meeting. We'll be looking for a good crowd to show up in support of Pam. Meeting will be Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Genie Room in the Eckles Library in Oakland starting at 1:30 p.m. Hope to see a lot of you on Monday!

We are happy to report that the early Carson newspapers have been digitized and are available on our Advantage Archives website. The dates are between 07/16/1880 and 08/08/1918. We continue to be thankful to the Mary Sternberg Family for using her memorial money in this manner. This is also a good place to point out that almost all of the Avoca newspapers have been added to the Advantage Archives website for Avoca!
Members are encouraged to work in the Genie Room any time the Library is open on projects that need done. Check with your President if you have any questions as to what can be done.
